Most people who come to me have already tried something else. An app, a group class, a textbook that gathered dust. They made a start, but nothing quite stuck — because nothing was built around them.
That’s what the subscription is for. Every week, the same time slot, the same coach, the same commitment to moving forward. Piece by piece, your Dutch starts to make sense in a way it hasn’t before.
If you’ve already done your trial lesson with me, you know what this feels like. If you haven’t yet, that’s the natural place to start.
What your subscription includes
Each week, you and I meet for 50 minutes via Zoom — just the two of us. Your time slot is yours, reserved each week so that learning Dutch becomes a steady, reliable part of your week rather than something you have to reschedule around everything else.
Life happens, of course. If you need to move a session, you can reschedule once per month as long as you give me at least 12 hours’ notice. That flexibility is there when you need it — it’s not there to be used as a get-out, and I think you already know that.
Wherever you are right now — a complete beginner at A0, or someone at C1+ who wants to sharpen what you already have — the subscription is built around your level and your goals. Nothing is fixed except your commitment.
As an active student, you’ll also have access to the student portal: a private space with supplementary materials and exercises to support what we cover together in lessons.
I know what it’s like to arrive somewhere and feel like you’re starting from scratch
I’ve lived abroad myself — across Western and Southern Europe — and I know exactly how disorienting it is to navigate daily life in a language that isn’t yours yet. The smallest things take effort. The simplest conversations can feel exposing. It’s not a lack of intelligence. It’s just part of the process of finding your footing in a new place.
I also spent years working in corporate environments across Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and The Hague — in shipyards, IT companies, and international management teams. I’ve been in the rooms where Dutch was the working language, and I’ve seen what it costs to sit on the outside of that. Language isn’t just communication. It’s belonging.
Before I became a taalcoach, I worked for a decade as a certified sworn translator — Dutch and English, for multinationals and EU institutions. I understand the structure of both languages deeply, and that shapes the way I teach.
When you work with me, you’re not working through a standard curriculum. You’re working with someone who has earned the empathy they bring to every lesson, and who genuinely believes that your Dutch is possible — because I’ve seen it happen, again and again, for people who felt exactly where you do now.
Pricing and Flexibility
The monthly subscription is €180 per month, which covers four 50-minute lessons. That works out to one lesson per week at a fixed time slot. If you have already completed a trial lesson, the €10 you paid for that session is credited toward your first subscription month.
Cancellation:
If you ever need to stop, I ask for one month’s notice. That’s it. No complicated exit process, no penalty.
Refund:
If you’ve signed up but haven’t started lessons yet, you can request a refund within 14 days.
For the full terms, you’ll find everything in the Algemene voorwaarden.
I want this to be a clear, straightforward commitment — not something with hidden catches. If you have any questions about how the subscription works before signing up, Addy is happy to answer them.
From trial lesson to active student
Step 1 — Your trial lesson
Everything starts with a 30-minute trial lesson at €10. It’s not a sales call or an assessment test. It’s a real lesson — I get to know where you are, what you want to achieve, and how you learn. You get to experience the coaching before you commit to anything. Most students say it felt different from anything they’d tried before.
Step 2 — You decide
After your trial, there’s no pressure and no countdown clock. If you want to continue, you let Addy know — and we sort out the practical details together. If it’s not the right fit, that’s fine too.
Step 3 — Your first subscription month begins
Once you’re in, your weekly time slot is confirmed, and your student portal access is set up. The €10 from your trial lesson comes off your first month’s payment. We pick up from exactly where we left off.
Step 4 — Week by week, piece by piece
This is where the work happens. Every lesson builds on the last. Some weeks you’ll feel like things are clicking into place. Others will be harder — that’s not a problem, it’s just how language learning works. My job is to make sure we keep moving forward, together.
